Nestled in the heart of rural Ingham, the Ingham Swan is a delightful 14th-century coaching inn that had me utterly enchanted. The cozy atmosphere, with its big fireplaces and ancient beams, immediately reminded me of the charm I love in Irish and Icelandic cottages. Our spacious room, complete with a lovely en suite, was the perfect retreat after indulging in the exceptional tasting menu prepared by Chef Daniel Smith - let me just say, the home-smoked duck was a highlight! Dining in the intimate restaurant was a treat, where the flavors conjured up a sense of place with local ingredients beautifully presented. I often seek spots that offer both comfort and culinary delight, and the Ingham Swan excelled in both areas. Plus, with lovely footpaths nearby leading to the stunning Norfolk coast, it's an ideal base for anyone wanting to explore this lesser-known gem of England.
